Blinken – Agreement on ceasefire still possible

Antony Blinken in Doha

According to US Secretary of State Blinken, the Islamist Hamas has proposed “numerous” changes to the US draft ceasefire. At least some of them are “feasible” and the group is “determined to bridge the divide”.

Hamas contradicts Blinken – Did not demand any changes to the peace plan

Hamas has rejected claims by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken that he has called for improvements to the peace plan for the Gaza Strip. Leading Hamas member Osama Hamdan told Al-Arabi TV that Blinken was “part of the problem, not the solution” in the search for ways to end the Gaza war. Blinken previously said that the radical Islamic Hamas group had made numerous requests for changes to the US-backed ceasefire proposal.
